Paula is an executive leader, independent board member and venture investor and entrepreneur with more than 35 years of biopharma experience. Her focus is on new company formation and company building. She founded and led 2 companies including Ensoma and Akcea Therapeutics. At Ensoma, she serves as Chairman and was the founding Executive Chairman leading the company from seed through subsequent private rounds. At Akcea Therapeutics, she was founding CEO, leading the company from a private to a multi-national public company with two rare drugs approved and commercialized and additional pipeline global pharma partnerships.
