In this exhibit, Nygel Jones brings to life a unique fusion of industrial design, pop culture, and craftsmanship, drawing from his experiences in custom fabrication and woodworking. His intricate wooden panels and frames are not only painted but also meticulously shaped to form dynamic compositions. Each piece reflects the sporadic nature of creativity, with abstract shapes inspired by anything that exists or can be invented, forming a visual assembly line of ideas.
The process is both artistic and technical, likened to composing a song—power tools become instruments, and cut wood pieces become musical notes, harmonizing together into a structurally sound and melodic whole. These pieces reflect a deep-rooted love for design, innovation, and the playful yet precise assembly of elements, reminiscent of building with Legos or restoring cars.
This exhibit celebrates the interconnectedness of form and function, bringing viewers into the world of industrial aesthetics with a twist of nostalgic creativity, exploring how spontaneous design can meet calculated craftsmanship.
