MALSI DAY 2025
The 18th annual Massachusetts Life Sciences Innovation (MALSI) Day is the biggest day for life sciences startups and innovation in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This is a high-energy, hands-on, global event which brings together scientific leaders and business experts to mingle with scientists, post-docs, professors, entrepreneurs, innovators, and venture capitalists.
The day features panel discussions, emerging technology poster competition featuring Tech Transfer Office startups and a networking reception.
It is the flagship event of life sciences in Massachusetts, jointly and actively put together by BioLabs, LabCentral, MassVentures and The Engine, in partnership with all the major organizations that are involved in starting and supporting the life sciences start-up ecosystem in the Commonwealth.

The showcase is an opportunity for emerging university life sciences spinouts to present/pitch to investors and industry. Two $2000 prizes will be awarded.

Interim Secretary of Economic Development
Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Ashley Stolba is the Interim Secretary of the Executive Office of Economic Development, which works to make Massachusetts the best place for businesses to grow, individuals to pursue careers, and communities to thrive. Previously, she served as Undersecretary of Economic Foundations, leading teams that invest hundreds of millions in public infrastructure grants and business tax credits through the Community One Stop for Growth and the Business Front Door. She oversaw the Massachusetts Office of Business Development, acted as the secretariat’s climate officer, and promoted the blue economy via partnerships with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and as Vice Chair of the Seaport Economic Council. She also supported military installations through the Massachusetts Military Asset and Security Strategy Task Force and advanced opportunities for rural communities and small businesses. Prior to joining the Executive Office, Stolba was Chief of Staff at the Harvard Allston Land Company, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Massachusetts Port Authority, and held roles with the Massachusetts Association of Realtors and in the state legislature. A Mashpee native, she holds a BBA from the University of Miami and a JD from Suffolk University Law School.
